What’s Up, Tiger Lady?

 

While planning our holiday in Thailand, my husband excitedly exclaimed, “We should go and see the tigers in Kanchanaburi. It will be fun!” As someone who loves adventure,  I agreed enthusiastically that meeting these majestic beasts would be an experience to remember. Yet when I ultimately laid eyes on them, the thought that ran through my mind was: “This will be an experience to remember, if I live to relate it!” I was next in line to meet the tigers. Eight of them lay motionless on the grounds of the “Tiger Canyon” – a rocky spot within the premises of Watpa Luangta Ba Yannasampanno Forest Monastery. Except for the body movements caused by their breathing, the tigers seemed either to be asleep, or preparing to spring up and counter a sudden attack! The nearest one was about three meters in front of me......
